The investment programme carried out thanks to the Bando MI3 (Innovative Machinery) was aimed at diversifying the activity by including in the company’s core business, the procurement and maintenance of quality raw materials with an initial processing of the same. The objective that has been achieved is to have full traceability and selection of the raw materials (extremely high quality fruit) to be used in the production of the jams to be marketed. The project involved the purchase of:
- REFRIGERATION SYSTEM for fruit storage consisting of four different cells:
- Refrigerated cold room with temperature regime between 7°C and 12°C (fresh fruit);
- Frozen fruit at temperatures between -18°C and -20°C (frozen fruit);
- Thawing refrigerator cell with temperature between 10°C and 13°C (defrosting frozen fruit);
- Anti-cell with temperatures from 10°C to 15°C (cooled environment for freshly supplied product).
- DRIVE-IN type and equipped with the PALLET SHUTTLE system;
- N.2 FRUIT PROCESSING LINES, one for citrus and peaches and one for small fruit. The fresh fruit, through these lines, undergoes an initial phase of sorting, washing, peeling and cutting and then the fruit is processed, the stalk section is removed, shelled, stoned and/or cored and placed inside special packaging to be subsequently stored fresh or frozen.
- COMPRESSOR for fruit washing air line and AIR DISTRIBUTION LINE
- ELECTROGEN GROUP and communication lines
- NO. 2 ELECTRIC FORKLIFT TRUCKS
The project realised makes full use of IoT technology by interfacing it with the company’s management systems, allowing it to achieve the planned objectives in terms of innovation and digitalisation. The investment programme has also enabled the company’s transition to the circular economy paradigm through the rational use of water for washing fruit.
